I began sketching/coloring on my iPhone as soon as I learned it was possible and purchased the iPad when I started reading about its capabilities as an "Art Studio". I joined an on-line group and downloaded every art and photo related app that someone mentioned. When away from home, my iPad is almost always in my purse. It was fascinating that I could have all of my supplies with me all of the time! I periodically "googled" looking for on-line classes geared to my particular interests and eventually found iPad Art 101. Sumit Vishwakarma is an excellent instructor. The first lessons require the ArtRage app which I'd previously downloaded, but, never attempted to use. His videos are well planned and the instructions are easy to follow.
I was in the fabric auditioning phase of a quilt about Harriet Tubman and, after the lesson on Blending, decided that painting the Combahee River would be a great practice exercise. My final decision was to use a blue with cumulus clouds sky and add color to the black and white Tubman image - she was the focal point. Following my iPad painting are the narrative and a photo of the completed quilt.
The quilt is displayed in the Exhibition! Feeling great !
